Marlon Tapales Returns to the Ring vs Jankaew of Thailand

Former unified two division world champion Marlon Tapales returns to the ring against Thai fighter Nattapong Jankaew in their WBC Asia Continental super bantamweight title bout this May 10 at the Midas Hotel and Casino.

During the official weigh in last May 9, Tapales registered 119.6 pounds while Jankaew is at 121.4 pounds.

The 32-year-old Tapales lost to Japanese sensation Naoya Inoue last December in Tokyo and lost the IBF and WBA titles at 122 pounds.

Tapales now has a 37-4 record with 19 KOs while his 27-year-old opponent, Jankaew, is 12-3 with 8 KOs.

In the co-main event, bantamweight contender Reymart Gaballo will fight Kenbun Torres of Japan.

Gaballo has a 27-1 win-loss card and an astounding 22 KOs, and last fought last February via a first-round KO over Thailand’s Phai Pharo.
