The Philippine Women’s Beach Handball Team gears up for the upcoming IHF Men and Women’s Beach Handball World Championships for the first time to beplayed at the ‘Pingtan International Beach Sports Base’ based in the Long Wangtou Ocean Park on Pingtan Island, People’s Republic of China from 18 to 23 June 2024.
The country is grouped with powerhouses Australia, China and Portugal in Group following the draw held last May 3, 2024. In Group B are Croatia, Vietnam, Argentina, and Spain. Group C will be bannered by USA, Denmark, Norway and The Netherlands while Group D is composed of Puerto Rico, Greece, Brazil and Germany.
“We’re thrilled to be making our debut at the IHF Beach Handball World Championships. It’s an exciting opportunity for the Philippines to play on the world stage. We are ready to face the challenge head-on against Australia, Portugal and China. I’m sure the teams are prepared and we expect tough matches from everyone wrote Jana Franquelli – coach of the national team.

The national team made it to the world championships after winning silver medal in the 2023 Asian Beach Handball Championships in Bali, Indonesia last March 19, 2023.
In preparation for the worlds, the team is currently participating in different friendly matches most recently the Philippine Beach Handball Tour – Laguna Leg in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa City.
