Yulo brothers of the Philippines bagged gold medals on Sunday at the conclusion of the 17th Junior and 11th Senior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Carlos Yulo dominated the Seniors Division collecting four gold medals in this year’s edition. Yulo showed brilliance in his favorite events, floor exercise, vault and parallel bars. On the first day of the competition, he won his first ever gold medal in Individual All-Around scoring a total of 85.298.
On Day 3 during the floor exercise finals he registered 14.933 securing his second gold besting Karim Milad of Kazakhstan and Yanzhi Yang of China who scored 14.600 and 14.200 respectively. He also competed in the Still Rings finals placing 6th with a score of 13.533

On Day 4, Yulo pocketed gold medals in vault and parallel bars making it 4 gold medals. His excellent performance in vault scoring 14.883 topped the event beating Abdulaziz Mirvaliev (14.783) of Uzbekistan and Malaysia’s Muhammad Sharul Aimy (14.466).
In the parallel bars finals, he scored 15.133 to win the gold, while China’s Dehang Yin (15.033) and local bet Rasuljon Abdurakhimov (14.866) placed second and third, respectively.
With his 4 gold medals, Yulo became the best athlete in Asia showing his readiness for Paris Olympics and proving his doubters wrong.
Meanwhile in the juniors division, Caloy’s younger brother tagged as a gymnastics’ rising talent, Karl Eldrew Yulo bagged the gold in the vault event, an outstanding comeback from his silver finish in the championships last year.
