Carlo Biado captures WPA Ho Chi Minh 9-Ball Open

Carlo Biado of the Philippines ruled the World Pool Association Ho Chi Minh City 9-Ball Open in Vietnam after beating Mario He of Australia in the finals on Sunday, September 29.

Biado dominated He, 13-8 to take the title and walk away with a total of 35 thousand dollars and an additional 5 thousand from Aplus Billiards for a total of 40 thousand or approximately Php2 million.

Prior to the final, Biado needed to pull off a nail-biting 11-10 hill-hill win over Sanjin Pehlivanonic of Bosnia in the semis decided via costly mistake from Pehlivanonic that allow Biado seize the opportunity to secure the last-minute ticket to the final.

He also prevailed over fellow Filipinos Anton Raga 11-4, in the quarterfinals and Val Pajuay, 11-3 in the round of 16.

Up next for Biado are the Peri and Hanoi Opens before the inaugural Reyes Cup on October 15-18 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
