Naoya Inoue knocks out Luis Nery, Retains Undisputed Junior Featherweight Title

Naoya Inoue proves to be the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter on Monday retaining his undisputed junior featherweight championship with a spectacular technical knockout of Luis Nery in Round 6 of their championship bout.

Despite being knocked down for the first time in his pro career by Luis Nery in the first round, Inoue stormed back to dominate the next five rounds before a solid crowd of around 50,000 spectators at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. He returns the favor with a sharp left hook to the inside while moving backwards that drops Nery in Round 2 and repeats the same in Round 5.

In Round 6, Inoue drops Nery with a savage right hand to end the fight and retain his undisputed junior featherweight championship by a technical knockout.

Inoue improves to 27-0 (24 KOs) with the win, while Nery falls to 35-2 (27 KOs) in defeat.
