Casimero stops Sanchez with First Round TKO in Japan

Former three-division champion John Riel Casimero made quick work of Saul Sanchez scoring a first round stoppage in their 10-round bout on Sunday at Yokohama Budokan in Japan.

Casimero came well-prepared swinging and quickly dropped the former world title challenger just around 30 seconds into the fight. He quickly followed up with another knock down on Sanchez with a strong left hook that saw his opponent shaky and slowly getting up.

The Filipino slugger then thrown relentless barrage of punches with groggy Sanchez unable to counter allowing the referee to stop the contest in the final 20 seconds of the first round enroute to Casimero’s technical knockout win.

Marking his first fight after a year-long hiatus, Casimero silenced doubts about his form after a long absence from boxing with a resounding victory.
