Pinoy boxer Marlon Tapales bounces back big from his loss to Naoya Inoue defeating Thailand’s Nattapong Jankaew via first round technical knock out on Friday, May 10 in Midas Hotel, Pasay City, Philippines.
The former unified two division world champion did not waste time in getting rid of Jankaew knocking him down with a right hook early in the first round then another left hand counter for another knockdown before finally stopping him and winning the bout in just one round.
“It feels good to return with a victory. Thank God and to all the people who supports me. I will continue to work hard to become a world champion again,” wrote Tapales on his Facebook page.

The win paved way for another title opportunity on his way back to the top gaining the WBC Asia Continental Super Bantamweight title and improving to 38-4, 20 knockouts. Tapales was also recently rated no. 2 by the WBC in 122 pounds behind Alan Picasso of Mexico.
The fights that took place at Midas Hotel and Casino in Pasay City was under Sanman Promotions, MP Promotions and Viva Promotions.
